THE SCENE
Simple, clean and "shack-like" describe the decor at Vera's. Afterall, Vera's has its origins in a beach shack at Dundarave Pier. The chalk board menus are a nice touch.

BRAGGING RIGHTS
In 1977, the concession at Dundarave Pier opened in West Vancouver. Over the next 22 years under the watchful eyes of Vera and Frank, it gained a reputation for two things; quality and quantity.
Actually three if you count the hour long wait for one of Vera’s fresh burgers. With the help of her family, they made sure that their standards were always maintained. Many times, Vera's (as it had come to be known) won the title of Best Burger in Vancouver. The secret to their success was simple; make sure the meat is fresh, the recipe simple and lastly, cooked to perfection; every time.
In 2000, Vera retired and with no one left to operate Veras, she approached Gerald Tritt, a veteran in the food-service business, and a long time family friend to see if he would follow through on his comment, "when you retire let me know, I'll take over". After a quick second Gerald said yes.
Consistently voted the best burger in Vancouver. Enough said.
